Friday Finds: Canoe Charm necklace by RJCharms

Canoe

When I first saw this Canoe charm necklace I immediately thought what a lovely gift it would be for a Canadian friend who's far away from home. To me, canoes are as much a symbol of Canada as beavers or Maple leaves! This pewter charm is included on a rhodium plated chain. Visit RJCharms lovely Etsy shop for more adorable and collectable charms!

Oh Canada! Treasury Challenge

Oh, Canada! We have a winner. Congratulations to Lenore, at lenokeidesigns, with her beautifully curated, Magic is Afoot. An item from Lenore's shop will be featured in every entry to our next challenge.

To enter this week's challenge, you must:

* use an item from lenokeidesgins in the top row of your collection

* post the link to your treasury in the comment section of this blog by midnight (Ottawa time) Friday, January 27, 2012. If your treasury link isn’t here, your treasury isn’t entered in the challenge.

* use 5 more Oh, Canada team members in the top three rows. Incorporate as many team members as you like, but there must be at least 6 team members in the top three rows to qualify for the challenge.

* tag your treasury with octchallenge and ohcanadateam. This is essential for providing the judges with one stop browsing.

* invite others to play and provide a link to the blog challenge. Just because it’d be cool to have guest players ;-)

Judging -- how about you? Not into the treasury making thang, or just want to sit back for a bit? Please, be a narrow down judge, to help whittle the list of entries down to manageable size for voting. Be one of the first three folks to volunteer in the comment section of this blog and take on this important role. Since treasuries should not include an item from your own shop(s), challenge winners are cordially invited, but never expected, to help narrow down entries.

Friday Finds: Custom Art Quilt of your favorite Pet by castillejacotton

4508-0 Delilah Art Quilt
I was blown away by this intricate and colorful quilt by castillejacotton. Diane worked on this quilt of Delilah, a bull mastiff/golden retriever cross from a photograph and captured her beautifully! The quilt is meant to be hung as wall art. Diane does custom work as well, so if you'd like a keepsake picture of your favorite pet, visit her shop to see more of her amazing work!

Friday Finds: Antique Hand Knotted Persian Carpet Pillow Cover by TheCottageWorkroom

IMG_3643_resize
Dianne of TheCottageWorkroom obviously has a great eye for spotting materials that can be upcycled into fantastic covers! She saw an antique persian rug that was heavily damaged at an auction, but knew that she could turn it into a gem. After painstakingly cleaning it and using the undamaged bit, this is what she came up with- a striking cushion cover with rich reds, yellow, green and brown. Check out her shop for more interesting designs that include modern pieces as well.
